Plastic UV bodies absorb light that should be hitting the water. Building the 55w SSUV clarifier from stainless steel changes that arithmetic: the material is up to 30% more effective than comparable plastic products, and the reflective interior lifts UVC clarification effectiveness by 50% or more. It is also a far tougher shell, which matters for a unit that lives outdoors year round.

Thermal protection is built in. Should the unit approach an unsafe temperature it shuts itself down automatically, then restarts and carries on once it has cooled to normal.*

The SSUV is aimed at large ponds and uses a one in / one out arrangement, supplied with a set of attachments covering both flexible hose and BSP pipe fittings. A transparent panel lets you confirm at a glance that the lamp is running.

Servicing the quartz sleeve is deliberately simple – turn the ballast counter-clockwise and ease it apart from the UV case.

IMPORTANT: Before opening up SSUV unit, ensure the system is off at the mains and you turn off the power to your pump / external filter. UV bulbs and quartz sleeves are very fragile - handle with care.

Each unit comes with a 2-year warranty for extra peace of mind.
