Half the ultraviolet a lamp produces heads away from the water and, in a plastic housing, is simply absorbed and wasted. The AllPondSolutions SSUV-18 recovers it. Its reflective stainless steel body bounces that light back through the flow, increasing the effectiveness of UVC clarification by 50% or more, and the 18w unit as a whole is up to 30% more effective than comparable plastic products. The steel construction is also extra tough and durable, which matters on a unit expected to sit outside for years and keep pond water crystal clear.

Thermal safety is built in. If the SSUV stainless steel pond steriliser is in danger of overheating it shuts itself down automatically, then restarts and continues to operate once it has cooled back to normal temperature.*

The unit is designed for large ponds and uses a one in / one out system for water delivery and exit. An array of attachments is supplied to suit either flexible hose or BSP pipe fittings, and a transparent panel lets you check the UV is fully operational at all times.

Reaching the quartz sleeve for maintenance or replacement is deliberately simple: turn the ballast counter-clockwise and gently pull it apart from the UV case.

IMPORTANT: Before opening up SSUV unit, ensure the system is off at the mains and you turn off the power to your pump / external filter. UV bulbs and quartz sleeves are very fragile - handle with care.
