Once a pond goes deep enough to overwinter decent fish, the liner has to travel down the walls and back up again - and the maths eats metres far faster than people expect. At 4 x 3m this sheet gives 12 metres squared, enough for a proper fish-depth excavation rather than a shallow feature.
