Pressurised Spin Clear Pond Filter PFC-8000

Buying a filter and a pump separately is how people end up with a mismatched pair. This kit removes the guesswork by supplying both together, along with the plumbing: pond filter, pond pump, 2x jubilee clips and 5m improved heavy duty hosing, arriving as the PFC-8000 Kit with Aqua-ECO 4500 Pond Pump.

The filter is a pressurised design with built-in UV, kept continuously under pressure by the supplied pond pump. Water is fed directly from the pump through to the filter container and on to the outlet, and because the whole system stays pressurised the outlet can sit higher than the filter body - useful for hiding the unit and essential if you are feeding a waterfall.

Maintenance is handled by the rotating cleaning handle on the head. When a detailed clean is needed a small float pops out of the head to tell you, and turning the handle rinses the interior sponge clean, eliminating the need to dis-assemble. A separate outlet then discharges the dirty water until it runs clean and basic maintenance is complete.

Each unit is supplied with a built-in UV Light, which effectively prevents growth of algae and eliminates harmful micro-organisms and parasites which may cause fish diseases.

Filtration

Water passes through the PFC-8000 in the following order:

1. Pond water flows into the PFC-8000 via your pond pump
2. Initial filtration begins by removing large particles through a mixture of coarse and fine filter foams (mechanical filtration)
3. Then the water passes across bio balls that harbour good bacteria across large surface area (biological filtration)
4. Lastly the exiting water is exposed to a 11w UV steriliser capable of reducing harmful bacteria and algae
5. Clean, clear and healthy water exits your PFC-8000 and returns to your pond
