Natural Color Aquarium Reef Marine Sand DRY 1-2mm 5kg

Fine sand and strong return flow do not always get along. Moving up to a 1-2mm grain gives the bed enough weight to stay put where the current lands, without giving up anything a marine tank needs - this 5kg bag of dry aragonite still holds pH around 8.2 - 8.3 and supports the alkalinity level.

Made from a naturally sustainable aragonite source, it is perfect for both marine and reef aquariums with both corals and fish.

This is a dry reef base for reef and marine aquariums: premium quality natural aragonite, high in essential elements. It has been collected from a non-polluted pure natural environment, promotes stability of pH and buffers alkalinity KH levels, and is easy to use with all marine fish and corals.

Working out how much substrate you need

To reach a Two Inch (2") gravel depth in your fish tank, measure up and follow these three steps:

1. Multiply tank LENGTH by tank WIDTH in inches. Worked example: 47" Inches x 19" Inches = 893
2. Divide that figure by 10. Worked example: 893 / 10 = 89.3
3. Divide by 2.2 to convert to kilogrammes. Worked example: 89.3 / 2.2 = 40.5 KG REQUIRED

Rough guide for a 2" substrate / gravel depth

• 60cm / 2ft TANK = 25 kg
• 80cm / 2.6ft TANK = 30kg
• 100cm / 3.3ft TANK = 35 kg
• 120cm / 4ft TANK = 40 kg

Treat these as approximates - you may well want a deeper or thinner layer of substrate / gravel.
