AllPondSolutions 1400L/H + 9W UV Aquarium External Filter EF2+

Salt water is unforgiving on filter hardware, and a mechanical UV interlock is one more thing waiting to seize. Both were on the list when we rebuilt the EF range of external fish tank filters at AllPondSolutions, and the EF2+ is the 1400 Litres per Hour model with a 9W UV built in.

Compared with the range it replaces, priming is easier and far more consistent, and the body has been redesigned to be stronger and more durable. Fittings were specifically improved for marine fish keepers so they last longer in a salt water environment. Every unit now carries a full 2 years warranty for that extra peace of mind.

The integrated UV steriliser gained a more easily accessible UV switch and a clearer on/off indicator light. Its safety mechanism is now activated purely by magnet, which avoids any kind of mechanical failure of that function.

Filtration is multi-stage throughout. Aquarium water passes through multiple internal layered baskets, each filled with a different filter media material, giving extremely thorough biological, mechanical and chemical filtration.

Every external in our range does the same job as an internal powerhead filter but is designed to sit outside the tank. Water is drawn in through an inlet tube and returned crystal clear through an outlet tube (both supplied). A spray-bar on the outlet helps increase oxygen aeration levels within the tank. Keeping the unit outside frees up space in the display and leaves a huge internal capacity for filter media, making these filters suitable for larger volume tanks.

Ceramic rings, bio balls, activated carbon and fine floss filter foam are supplied. Filtering through the provided media gives a vastly improved level of waste-free water through extremely strong biological purification, and the easy-access layered baskets make it simple to customise your media choices to suit your aquarium and fish livestock needs.

Maintaining the filter is very simple. The drip-free shut-off tap allows you to remove the filter and take it away from the aquarium to an area more suitable for cleaning. Each basket lifts smoothly out of the unit, rinses through easily and returns to continue its operation.

Please note the pipework skimmer part included on the packaging is NOT included and might differ from the pipework provided with the filter. This does not affect the filter’s functionality.
