Cat Litter

Clumping cat litters with odour control, including lavender and low-dust bentonite.

Buying guide

Cats choose by feel underfoot, so texture is the thing to match. All three of our litters share the same fine clumping clay texture, so switching between them is easy. Pick Low Dust Clumping if you are buying on value and get through a lot of litter, Maximum Odour Control if the tray is somewhere you would rather not smell it and you prefer no added fragrance, or Lavender if you like a light scent in the room. When you move to a new litter, blend a little into the old one and build it up over a week or two, and your cat will take to it happily.

How much will you get through? Tell us how many cats you have and how often you change the tray, and our cat litter calculator works out how much you need and which pack size costs least per litre.

    Cat Litter at AllPetSolutions

Our cat litter is natural bentonite clay with activated carbon worked through it. It clumps in about three seconds, the clumps lift out whole instead of sticking to the bottom of the tray, and the formula is 99% dust-free, which is gentler on your cat's airways and yours. Choose unscented for maximum odour control, lavender for a light fresh scent, or our low dust clumping litter for the lowest cost per litre.

Which cat litter should I choose?

    • Low Dust Clumping Bentonite — our value litter and the lowest cost per litre in the range. Activated carbon traps odour rather than masking it. 10L and 20L.
    • Maximum Odour Control — the same fast-clumping clay, unscented, for anyone who dislikes added fragrance. 5L, 10L and 20L.
    • Lavender Clumping — bentonite, zeolite and activated carbon with a light lavender scent. 10L and 20L.

How much cat litter do I need?

As a rough guide, one cat gets through around 10L a month with daily scooping. Fill the tray to about 5 to 7cm deep: too shallow and clumps stick to the base, too deep and it gets kicked over the sides. Scoop the clumps out daily, top up as you go, and change the tray completely every few weeks. For a figure based on your own household, use the cat litter calculator — it also shows which pack size works out cheapest per litre.

    Keeping the tray fresh

Odour usually comes from clumps left sitting rather than the litter itself, so daily scooping does most of the work. Wash the tray with warm water and mild soap when you change it, and dry it before refilling. A litter scoop and a litter mat keep the job quick and stop litter being tracked through the house.

Is clumping clay litter safe for kittens?

Kittens under about four months old explore with their mouths, so many owners start them on a non-clumping litter and move to clumping clay once they are reliably using the tray. If you are unsure, ask your vet.

You will need a tray to go with it. Browse our cat litter trays and accessories, and see cat grooming for the rest of the routine.

Our range of cat litter includes our own brand AllPetSolutions premium clumping odour control cat litter. Types include low-dust clay litter, biodegradable materials.

Clumping cat litter is one of the more popular choices available. It sticks together when wet allowing you to easily scoop out the parts of it that your cat has urinated in.

Some cats might prefer non-clumping litter as it does not stick to their paws easily. Silica cat litter is a great choice if you’re looking for a dust-free option, which controls the odours or you can choose a scented cat litter designed specifically to prevent bad smells from escaping and filling your house.
